Gear Review: Sidi X-3 LEI Women’s Boots

Can’t tell you how stoked I am that Sidi came out with their women’s X-3 LEI boots in a grey and white color way in my size, Women’s 7! There aren’t many top-tier women’s riding boots on the market available in a size smaller than a women’s 8. TRUST ME i’ve been shopping for years, so this is an exciting development.

Read on cause imma tell you all about these pro-level women’s riding boots sent from the enduro gods!

TOP TIER QUALITY AND PROTECTION

The Sidi X-3 LEI women’s boots are ideal for motocross or woods and enduro (as opposed to street riding), and the level of protection they offer is suitable for frequent, advanced or competitive riding as opposed to novice, occasional or casual riding.

These offer a lot of pro-level benefits, without the pro-level price tag, in a fit designed just for women.

MADE FOR WOMEN - IN SIZE AND SHAPE

When it comes to a top-tier, more protective woods boot, there are very few choices for a woman who has a foot smaller than a size 8. As a woman with a size 7 foot, I’ve had to get by the past few years with a different brand’s mens model that was the only thing available as small as a Men’s size 6!

Those were a great boot, quality-wise, but perfect for a female leg like mine? Not so much. They were heavy, extra wide in the calf and wide in the foot. My ankle would slip in and out of the heel slightly, and the weight of them made me a little clumsy on the brake and shifter.

The Sidi X-3 LEIs have a leaner calf and ankle, compared to those men’s boots, plus adjustable straps allowing me to get the instep and heel nice and snug. Sidi’s break in well, fairly quickly. I don’t feel clumsy at all on the brake or shifter in these boots, allowing me to apply my brake more smoothly and steadily, and helping me avoid kicking my bike out of gear at inopportune times!

They also have a steel toe, plus the toe area covered in protective plastic - a must have for woods and rocky terrain riding in my opinion.

PINK OPTIONAL

I held off on buying these boots a couple years ago because they were only available in a pink, white, blue color way. At the time, pink was a gear “deal-breaker” for me!

But, I saw these in the pink/blue color way on a few girls at Over And Out this year, and they looked really killer! That made me reconsider, which is when I decided to give them another look and discovered they now existed in white and grey!

So, I really recommend them in either color way, but at least there’s a non-pink option - which I think should always be the case for women’s gear!

STYLE FOR MILES, AND THE QUALITY TO LAST

Straight out of the box they looked so rad!! They’re sick. Major style points.

Sidi is based in Italy, and they’re a known, top brand for cycling and motorsports. The appeal for me here is pretty identical to what I like about Beta Motorcycles: Italian styling, a long-standing two-wheel heritage and standards that speak to niche specialty and superior quality.

The great thing about these boots is that the quality of the parts is top notch, but also all bolt-on parts are replaceable. They last the longest, and you can have them repaired or resoled if need be!
