Off-Road Riding Options for Fall 2019!

Riding, riding and MORE riding… It’s what we’re all about!

Last year a lot of girls reached out to us after Over And Out asking where they could go ride next, and since public riding land in the Northeast is pretty scarce we didn’t have a whole lot of suggestions. Well, the tides are turning as our community grows, and this year we’ve got some rad recommendations!

Check out some of these off-road riding options for Fall 2019, and go have some more adventures!!!

THE DEL VAL TRAIL RIDERS CLUB

The DVTR guided the dual sport rides that ran off-site from Over And Out this year, and they were nothing short of amazing! The DVTR is all about that pure love of riding and having fun with friends.

DVTR members gain club affiliation that allows them to race in ECEA hare scrambles and enduros; plus the DVTR hosts their own events. They are running America’s longest-running dual sport, the Michaux, (which has been sold out for months! sorry!) but they have more events to come, like their Dirty Santa Ride - a family-friendly ride that benefits Toys for Tots at holiday time. Learn more at dvtrailriders.org.

FAMOUS READING OUTDOORS

We are so stoked to partner with Famous Reading Outdoors on our Summer event. I’ve been riding on this land for years and have had some of my biggest challenges (aka getting my ass handed to me) and triumphs riding this wild coal-mining terrain so it’s near to my heart.

It’s also great because you can ride there year round and experience some super challenging stuff. FRO has expanded their offerings, making it easy to try a one-day trial pass, or secure an annual membership and maps online! Learn more at: readingoutdoors.com

The Track

Everyone can ride on the track. We’ll be running segments of ride time according to rider level, alternating “expert”, “novice”, and “everyone”, so you can enter the track and have some reassurance as to who is on the track with you. From Friday to Sunday, everyone will have ample time to ride the track.

The track features tabletop jumps, and honestly you don’t even need to jump one of these jumps. They can easily be rolled over without even leaving the ground. So they’re great for practicing your body positioning and speed and safely working your way up to catching some air. You can also just ride around anything you’re not ready for ;)

Aaron Lampi, Lampi MX Training @lampi813

FIRST, TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF AND LAMPI MX TRAINING!

Hey, my name is Aaron Lampi. I’m 24 years old and currently live in Fishkill,NY. I started riding when I was 4 years old. My goal was always to become a professional motocross racer. I turned pro at the age of 16 and still race professionally today!

I started teaching 5 years ago as a hobby and to help some of my friends. Now, you could call it a “job” but, I love sharing my knowledge and seeing other people’s riding skills improve.

WHAT IS YOUR LIFE LIKE RIGHT NOW, WITH TRAINING AND PRO RACING?

I’m so blessed with the life I’m living. During the week, I train riders everyday. When I’m not training, I’m riding and or at the gym! And on the weekends I race. There’s not much time left in a week for much else.

I race almost every weekend starting in April and ending in October. In fact, right after I teach at OAOMX on Saturday October 5th, I’ll be racing the very next day!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT IT ALL?

The best part about riding and racing dirt bikes is that it’s one of the only times in my life where I’m completely “in the moment”.

IMG_0146.JPG

DO YOU TRAIN ANY FEMALE MX ATHLETES?

I have trained a few female motocross riders! A few that come to mind are Bella Kozloski, Gabriella Marafioti, and Amberly Goyette!

IMG_0144.JPG

WHAT WILL THE CLASS BE LIKE?

My classes cater to a variety of riders. I will individualize attention during the class so I can help each rider on what that rider needs to work on. I will have the class work sections on the track (using a certain span of track, a turn, a jump or other track feature). Riders will receive detailed explanation of technique and apply it on the track repeatedly.

Throughout each drill, I will watch each rider and pull each rider side to give them individual feedback on what they're doing right and what they can do to improve.  We will go over a lot of information like; Attack Position, Cornering Position, Clutch Use, Braking, Acceleration, Jumping, Transitions, Riding Knowledge, and more!

IMG_0147.JPG

WE HAVE A LOT OF ATTENDEES WHO ACTIVELY RIDE WOODS AND ENDURO, BUT NOT NECESSARILY MOTOCROSS. CAN THEY TRAIN WITH YOU TOO?

Absolutely! Not every rider has to have a motocross-specific bike. A rider on a woods bike can dial in their technique just as well in my class.

Check out the registration page for ALL details and bike and gear requirements.

NOTE: There are two different class offerings at OAOMX: Lampi MX Training and GPMX Dirty Girls. They are both on Saturday 10/5 and overlap because they are two different offerings based on rider experience. If you are unsure which class is for you, check out their descriptions on our blog and feel free to send any questions to info@overandoutmoto.com.

And, aside from classes, there will be open riding time on the track and throughout the property.
