Event Recap: OAO West Coast with Vicki Golden

Last weekend we took over an epic spot in Delano, CA to host our first West Coast Event: Moto Camp with Vicki Golden!

One hallmark of Over And Out events is taking over places we think make for a special event setting. Well, American MX did not disappoint! With rolling hillsides, drastic elevation changes and a rad mix of tracks surrounded by endless (and beautiful smelling) orange groves!

We partnered with record-breaking female moto athlete Vicki Golden so that ladies could ride with her and learn from her in one all-out badass weekend getaway. Vicki is incredible to watch as she shreds the track, but it’s even more rewarding to watch her coach other ladies to up their skill level and boost their confidence.

In addition to riding and learning from Vicki herself, we had the super rad team from Sedlak Off-Road School come out to lead lessons. Dan Sedlak and Edgar Cota were absolutely amazing, leading their sessions with big smiles, giving ladies clear instruction, mixing up the terrain to teach a variety of core skills riders could apply to any off-road riding be it motocross, enduro or adventure riding.

Our sponsors also came in big for us, helping us deliver the stoke and event fun for all attendees, with Monster Energy kicking in some rad swag and raffle prizes. Fasthouse raffled off one of their brand new Vicki Golden female gear sets!

Bell Helmets was on site showing their top of the line helmets and gifted one lucky gal a brand new Moto-10 Spherical in our raffle…insane!!!

Ladies took home a ton of rad prizes from the OAO raffle from sponsors including REV’IT, Revzilla, Fox, Liquid Death, and many more.

Local non-profit The Women’s Moto Project even kicked in a gift certificate for one woman to take the road course to get her street license - a $400 value!

We were stoked to have electric motorbikes from CAKE for ladies to demo in between hot laps! CAKE brought in several models to choose from and let us all take a spin on these fun electric-powered off-road bikes.

Waking up in moto-heaven only gets better when you have amazing coffee! Our mornings were blessed by the good vibes and delicious coffee and treats from the See See Motorcycles crew. We’re not worthy!

Ladies had some epic bonfire time and necessary refueling with a taco party, courtesy of Fasthouse, scruptious s’mores thanks to REV’IT, and beverages-of-choice from 805 Beer, Monster Energy and Liquid Death!

Major thanks to our buds at KickstandsUp for rolling in as our West Coast Trail support at this event! Having an official trail support team has been another key part of OAO events since day 1, and to be able to assemble another caring, hard-working and supportive team in CA was major for us!

Little known fact: Jay from the KickstandsUp crew was one of our original trail support members at our very first event years ago, before he and girlfriend Ashley moved to the West Coast. We’re stoked to have these two and the entire crew back into the OAO fold years later!

KickstandsUp ran our morning inspection station to make sure ladies were ready to roll, and they rolled all weekend long to assist anyone out on the track. Thank you, KickstandsUp Crew!

Another thanks is in order for pro-mx racer Kurt Nicoll at Champion MX for providing brand new KTM motocross rentals for ladies, with mechanical support. Thanks to Champion MX a bunch of our East Coast ladies (and ladies from all over!) were able to fly in and rent great quality bikes for the weekend.

Its truly hard to capture all the epic-ness that went down at this event, you’ll just have to stay tuned to our social to see more photos and video, and keep your Spring 2023 dates clear for our return to the West Coast!
