NEW Event! OAO is headed to the Ozarks!

We’re super stoked to announce our first women’s off-road campout in the Midwest, taking place at Hardwood Hills Ranch in Missouri the weekend of May 17-19, 2024! This event is for Ladies 18+ of ALL LEVELS - from those who have never sat on a dirt bike before to those ready to hit the advanced trails and learn elite skills from pro-racer, Rachel Gutish!

Like all beloved OAO events, we’ll have ladies-only camping, lessons, rentals, raffle, games and so much fun you’ll be counting down the days ‘til the next one!

Read on for some general details - so you can start planning NOW! - and stay tuned for registration to launch in March 2024.

The Event Space

We can’t wait to take over Hardwood Hills Ranch! HHR is a private riding club in Mansfield that regularly hosts races like the Jarvis (as in Graham!) Signature Race, harescrambles like The Ozark 100-Miler, not to mention a plethora of exciting training events with some of the best riders in the world from Graham Jarvis, to Cody Webb, to Over And Out-sponsored racer Rachel Gutish!

HHR offers miles and miles of trails running through big flowing woods, creek beds of all kinds, lots of rocks, tight woods, technical terrain, and a variety of different mixes of rock, dirt and sand. HHR is also known for its variety of extreme trail features, like “Something Special” and “The Wall” shown in the videos below (remember, the landscape appears much flatter on video than in reality).

There is plenty of room for dry camping (no hookups), and we’ll have a covered pavilion for all the fun hangs, meal time and raffle. Current HHR members will get a special discount on event tickets!

Riding Options

We’ll have Novice, Intermediate and Advanced loops marked off for our event - the easier ones being wider, flatter and shorter (think 3-5miles) while the more advanced loops will be single-track, tight and twisty, off-camber and so on, and the entire woods area is speckled with extreme trail features, each with an ability to bypass. There are also man-made obstacles to be used in training sessions with Rachel Gutish!

While some of this terrain may sound intimidating to new or novice riders, there is also SO much open, flat, grassy or novice-friendly space. There there will also be lessons and novice-friendly dirt bike rentals available (see below)! So, ladies who’ve always wanted to try or learn - this is the place for YOU too!

Incredible Training Options for All Levels

In addition to opening up this private club’s trails just for the ladies, we will have training options* for ALL Levels - from complete beginners to advanced off-road rippers!

First, Rachel Gutish is coming!! We’ll kick off Friday evening of the event with a track walk with Rachel that all levels can join - included with the general admission event ticket! We’ve done this at our east coast events with Rachel and watching her explain what she would look out for on a trail is so informative and helpful - just a great way to get in the mindset for the weekend. It’s also a great way to spend time with and get to know your fellow campers!

Rachel then will host a few different small-group classes throughout the rest of the weekend, perfect for current intermediate to advanced riders who want to work on their technical or advanced skills.

We’re also stoked to have Greg “Frenchie” Pamart of GPMX training coming out with his fleet of novice-friendly trail bikes that can be rented! Frenchie is at every one of our East Coast events, and his classes always book up completely because he is such a dynamic coach who helps riders embrace new challenges and have FUN doing it! Frenchie’s fleet is made up of low cc four-stroke trail bikes, the perfect bikes for beginner riders and fun bikes for any level rider.

(*Training sessions and bike rentals are bookable separate from the general admission registration for each event, for additional rates. Lessons are usually around $150-$175/3-4 hour session and rentals usually around $200-250/day. Exact pricing will post when registration opens.)
