AMA Extreme Women’s Pro Class Sponsor

For the first time, the AMA’s EXC Extreme Championship will now have a Women’s Pro Class, and Over And Out women’s enduro events are the first to commit to sponsoring the Pro Women’s Purse for a round!

If you missed our recent Instagram LIVE session, we recap these exciting announcements here!

We recently hosted our special guest, Mary Rinell, on our Instagram LIVE to discuss this new change to the series. Mary, a hard enduro photographer we’ve had out to our events, is newly appointed as the Media Director for the EXC, the AMA’s Extreme Championship Series. This series unites some of the most epic hard enduro races in the country!

WHAT’S THE AMA KENDA EXC EXTREME CHAMPIONSHIP?

The Kenda AMA Extreme Championship (previously referred to as the Sherco AMA Off-Road Extreme Championship; east and west) is a 10-round series of extreme enduro races, consisting of six East and five West rounds in 2021. The series has added three exciting new rounds to the series for 2021!

These are some of the gnarliest rides you’ll see in the United States, where riders/racers tackle extreme terrain elements like rocks, trees, steep climbs, caverns, ledges and more.

Many riders and racers join just to see how far they could get - many often not even completing one lap - which just shows you how physically and mentally super-human the pro extreme riders are.

NEW! WOMENS PRO CLASS

This is truly some exciting news for our industry, and for all riders who love the sport of enduro. The addition of a PRO Class for the Women, gives those excellent female athletes the same race features that the PRO Male riders receive.

Among other things, without this PRO Class, the handful of exceptional, factory-backed female athletes in the sport would be. (in most cases) forced to start the race from a starting line positioned further back behind all men’s classes.

This means they’d have to navigate more riders and be subject to bottlenecks on the course where less-proficient riders inevitably gather. For these women, who work hard year-round to perform and to represent their factory teams, it’s only right that they be given the class distinction they deserve!

“This advancement will allow our female Factory riders the starting position they deserve, among many other much needed improvements. We are thrilled to be at the forefront of women in extreme enduro -and are thankful for all the sponsors and individuals who have collaborated, donating their time and efforts to make this happen.” ~ Mary Rinell, EXC Media Director

OVER AND OUT IS SPONSORING THE PRO WOMEN’S PURSE!

We’re beyond stoked to throw our support to these amazing female riders, and to help bring greater awareness to the sport for riders at all levels. Over And Out will be sponsoring the pro women’s purse for a round of the EXC, awarding a total $1000 prize across the podium.

We’ve selected Tough Like RORR as our round to support, because this event is held on neighboring property to Over And Out by some great folks in our local riding community. It’s our backyard, close to home, and close to the heart.

We also feel strongly that this growth for the EXC event structure echoes the growth that we’re already seeing in the Women’s B & C classes at many races. And that growth is fueled by showing more female riders how challenging, rewarding and straight-up rad the sport of enduro is!

We’re proud to not only support these top female riders, but to continue our mission of exposing female riders at all levels to the possibilities of where two wheels can take them! Today’s new rider could be tomorrows Extreme competitor.

YOU CAN SPONSOR TOO!
